Coverage gaps, registration failures, and degraded cells surfaced late — usually after subscribers had already felt them. The operator needed continuous, device-side visibility across its full footprint, including regions no drive-test fleet would ever reach economically.
The operator deployed SimX Qmax applets across a live subscriber population. Real-user experience measurements — service availability, call outcomes, registration events, and signal quality — were captured on the SIM, delivered over encrypted IP with SMS fallback, and aggregated by cell, technology, and region on the SimX platform. No apps were installed, no probes deployed, no drive-test campaigns run.

The engineering team moved from reactive complaint-chasing to a ranked remediation queue backed by device-side evidence: which cells, which technologies, which regions, and how many subscribers affected. The six-month report ended not with observations but with a prioritised action plan — short-term fixes, medium-term optimisation, and strategic coverage investment — each item tied to measured data.
Every finding shares one property: it was visible only from the device side. Network counters showed the network functioning; the SIM showed subscribers being rejected, camping on weak cells, and losing service — continuously, across the whole country, at SIM-applet economics.
